On an atomic level, the car molecules never actually touched the cyclist molecules due to the strong nuclear force repelling them. Therefore he just passed extremely close to them.

    I shoulda been a lawyer.

Objection! Your honour, it’s not the strong nuclear force that repels atoms from each other but the electromagneticweak force from the atoms’ electron shells that repell other objects! Also a collision isn’t when atoms come into contact with each other but when they approach each other with sufficient force that the repelling force transfers momentum to those atoms, making their overall velocity harder to maintain control of and/or disrupting the solid structure of one or both objects involved.

Believe it or not, but in official court proceedings and documents, lawyers are officers of the court, and as a result, are not allowed to lie.

(I feel like I should mention, just in case people don’t realize, that all of the scientific facts Agent641 mentioned were false. The strong nuclear force is the binding force that keeps the atomic nucleus together. It doesn’t repel.)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it the electrons who, orbiting around the atoms, repel each other since they’re all magnetically negative?

You confused magnetism with electricity, which are not the same. They actually repel each other because they’re all north, that is if you live in the northern hemisphere. Luckily, earth sits in the habitable zone, so gravity is just strong enough to keep the electrons flying in their orbits.
