I also find the English custom of putting an 's at the end of whatever business (even when it’s not there by default) quite cute. The same happened when another colleague referred to the store as Fenwick’s. First I thought it was the local pronunciation of Phoenix.
I mean Leicester and Lester can be homophones.
“can be”? How else would you pronounce either?!
Foreigners often get tripped up by Leicester - “Lie-Chester” is a common effort.

I used to work in central London and it was always funny hearing Americans trying to pronounce place names.
“Can you tell us how to get to Lee-chester square?”
“You mean Leicester Square?”
They’d always pronounce the H in Buckingham Palace, but the way my nephew or niece said it “bucket and palace” was the best.
“Where’s that bucking ham palace”
