I don’t know what it’s called in English, but it’s amazing. I shave with this everywhere except downstairs. I need apply NO pressure whatsoever thanks to its own weight and thanks to the sharpness of these Japanese blades. I love it. :3 ⚔️🎌
Edit: you obviously don’t have to present your equipment on your hands like a psychopath. 🤣

I can’t remember what those are called in English either. Safety razors?
I use one too and there was a subreddit for them that I used to follow. But like with many enthusiast subs, they just went on and on about how this is trash and that is trash, this $500 blade is just soooo good, you know?
I found some cheap Solingen shaver and use Feather blades (I think that’s what you use) as that’s the only ones I can find in Japan. For shaving cream, I squirt Muji fasewash, moisturizer, and toner into my palm and rub it all over my face. No fancy brushes with those bowls. I get a nice clean shave each time.
Muji I miss you 😭
I wonder if they make any straight knives with the same technique as their swords. 🤣
Cool! Sometimes I also find ordinary lather, whipped up with a brush, sort of in the way… applying some pre-shave “soap” (?), which is a lot thinner than lather, often works better!
