  • I’m not sure why your recognition of me is relevant?

Perhaps I should have kept the second paragraph combined with the first. So let me rephrase: “Not all people from there are bad, but some seem to be. Are you a bad one? I don’t know, I am bad at keeping up with names and yours has not come to my attention as ‘this is a bad user’”. Perhaps that will help.

This is a regular narrative that all .ml users are tankies so are not worth engaging with and yeah, it is insulting.

Which is why I didn’t engage in such.

A .world user singular, complaining about .ml users plural.

If you mean OP, or if you mean me, either way, there’s multiple in this very thread discussing a perceived reputation about .ml users.

But here’s the thing: One does not notice people until they cause reason for notice. I will certainly say that people I find irritating come from all over. But I have also noticed that more of the people I find irritating seem to be from .ml. Do I notice all the other non-irritating .ml users? Of course not. So speaking solely for myself, my personal opinion is that something about .ml has seemed to attract a lot of more irritating users, but it’s certainly not the only place they go. And I do not think everyone on .ml is irritating.

but hey, because I’m on this instance, I’m seen as “tankie” scum.

You do not wish to be seen in a certain way just because of your platform, and yet you are characterizing “everyone else” as seeing you a certain way. I would argue that perhaps some see you that way because you’re on that instance, and you tend to notice those that do and don’t notice those that don’t.

That’s always the problem with stereotypes. We must be careful not to try and counter stereotypes with stereotypes of our own.

  • I will definitely say that not all bad people come from .ml, and not all people from .ml are bad people… but there is defintely a noticeable correlation there.

You? Haven’t noticed your username, but i’m bad at keeping up with names.

But it’s funny that you talk about “.world users” whilc complaining about people talking about “.ml users”.

But that sounds like it could be read as an attack, and I mean it jsut as an observation. Text is a difficult medium. :)

(It may be a legitimate observation on your part… I just think it’s still funny.)
