I forgot about that. I subscribe to both so don’t notice day to day. Good catch, thank you.

I can appreciate that. It’s too easy to get burnt out on shitty news. Sometimes we just want to escape. I admit, sometimes I will let a new episode for several days until I feel I can handle it. But I eventually force myself to watch awful news like I’m in A Clockwork Orange

Most of my staples have been mentioned, but I want to give a shout out to Food Wishes, America’s Test Kitchen and That Dude Can Cook, Chef Jean-Pierre. Been cooking staples for years now. Also, Hey Grill Hey but it’s younger.
For drinks, How To Drink (though I feel they’ve been chasing algorithms and losing focus and soul), City-Steady Brewing, Cocktail Chemistry and Cocktail Time with Kevin Kos.
For politics, I go to Parkrose Permaculture and Farm to Taber. Both excellent and insightful even if I’m not always in full agreement.
For woodworking, it’s StumpyNubs, Blacktail Studio (highly recommend even if you’re not into woodworking), The Wood Whisperer. Lincoln Street Woodworking is newer but I still enjoy it.
I’m a car guy and honestly this space has become dismal. I watch Stay Tuned every Friday or weekend at least. I voted my conscience and unsubbed from Matt’s Offroading, Rat Rod Racing, Robby Layton and all of the Utahbers. While I can’t be certain I’m guessing they all voted for Trump and I just can’t support that shit. Oh and I really enjoy Regular Car Reviews

His rants exist because no one can afford the hardware anymore and he’s doing excellent journalism in explaining why we can’t (in a much more exacting and capable of bringing lawsuits way). Some of the best journalism I’ve seen in years, flat out.

I’m curious how you use it. I self host and run local LLMs but I genuinely cannot find a use for it. I don’t think the hardware is quite there for a useful home audible assistant but that’s the best use case I can think of. Tell me the time and create reminders kind of thing.
Audiobookshelf for audiobooks and Navidrome for music.
Don’t forget to check out Youtarr. I think it hits all the targets. You can do channels, playlists or individual videos. It has an option for a proxy URL to use to download which I believe can be set up with a self-hosted VPN. And it formats and sends things directly to Jellyfin.
