Yes, that’s the one. “On a Pale Horse” is the first book in the series, and the one about Death. In the books, magic and science coexist and aspects of reality like War, Time, Death, etc are all offices that people hold.

The whole Incarnations of Immortality series is one of my favorites, but it’s been a bit since I’ve read them.

It would be pretty funny in a sitcom, but significantly less so in real life.

If Piers Anthony is to be believed, this will only affect people with balanced souls, but everyone else should be fine. (Well, dead)
