I can get behind planting more trees, but it sounds like they just started planting them on city-owned land without permission? I somehow doubt an argument with a cop about how great the trees will be is going to get them out of that.

I am pretty much forced to use AI at work, and I still come home and write code by hand because I enjoy it. A good language server is much more helpful than the LLM autocomplete if you already know what you’re trying to write.

Saving it to a file is actually a decent method, since you can be sure the script you’re reviewing is the same one you’re running.

Personally I often will just manually run the install steps in order if the script is simple enough. Half the time it’s just a bunch of OS version checks followed by a tar -xf

Idk, feels like free speech to me. If the prompt injection is in code with a typical “no warranty” license, then I don’t see how there could be any liability. It’s indistinguishable from joking and sarcasm like people talking about “rm -rf /” for the memes.

There’s maybe some limited scenarios where it could end up in a lawsuit, like if a company selling services ended up prompt injecting their customers, since there’s an actual service contract involved.

Joking aside, I think you’re right, using discrete floating point math to simulate a transformer architecture will never be able to approach the efficiency of a “native” analog system like actual brains. I think eventually we’ll see someone come up with a hardware transformer that doesn’t require full synchronized clock signals.
