The doctor said he can’t do anything other than cutting the pole with his angle grinder. But then all the support for the flag would go down aswell, so we left things the way they are. Some things shouldn’t change.
Straight allies are the pole that can hold up the pride flags: not required for the message, but adds to it.

I always love the bigots who so easily tell on themselves. They walk in and see a Pride flag and walk out feeling all offended. The idea that “Everyone Is Welcome” is an attack on them
I thought the whole point of the new flag was to troll and divide people. Didn’t it start on 4chan?
Its intent is to visually include more subgroups, but the original design being a rainbow was specifically chosen for the fact that a rainbow contains all colors; representing all people. So there really isn’t any particular need to update the flag, IMO. It already is intended to include everyone.
