Only someone that wrote 100 lines of sql and then got handed it in seconds can reasonably understand. Ironic that it’s also only these people that could check it for errors which is required if you actually want it to be useful, because it hallucinates. Yet it is useful. If you need to write those and know how it should look and produce and know enough syntax to vet the script, then it is faster than just making it by hand. Tbf, the whole industry is heavily weighted towards the LLMs that steal data, produce lies, and ruin lives. Mostly, to convince shareholders to keep inflating the bubble that is primed to fuck up at least one nation’s entire economy.
I hand write all my queries because I don’t need or want an LLM to fuck up something important and challenging. I think you’re being down voted because we think you’re taking the lazy route and giving up on an opportunity to keep your brain exercised and smart.
That’s what I believed too before I started using it for this purpose. This resolved a larger bottleneck in my daily work and allows me to use my brain for more useful stuff.

They have historically done nothing but make the rich richer at society’s expense. If this tool were an actual benefit to the people no one could deny it. Yet there is so much evidence of the contrary.

I get the complaints about the economy and wealth inequality and environmental impacts from dodgy corporations. But, that’s not a technology problem, that’s a government/regulation problem. We need to attack the bad practices of corporations and the ineffectiveness of government to do anything about it, not people who have found a new tool to be useful for their work.
Don’t even mind them. They said AI can’t be useful because that’s a bullshit generator. Now AI is useful. Now they hate it for other reasons. They say that AI destroys the environment. But if everybody would run it locally on their own machine with the same energy demands they would be perfectly fine with it. The reasonable enemy would be the lack of energy efficient AI hardware, or anything else really but a technology, yet they hate the technology. It’s trendy here to hate AI, so they like to let you know that your tribe is not their tribe in a very heated manner.
