Don’t buy the lie about a war on cars. They’ve been waging a WAR ON WALKING for a century.
Once we open our eyes to the damage done by the #WarOnWalking, it’s impossible NOT to see it.
And when we finally try to improve things, giving more options for people to get around our cities, and decreasing car DEPENDENCY, they have the audacity to claim that’s a #WarOnCars.

No, there really isn’t a war on cars in any real sense.
Yes, there does need to be one.
On the other hand, just listening to Norman Finkelstein on Hasan Piker’s show and he talks about the “war” framing being implicitly supportive of Zionism… so maybe the point of people saying there is “war on cars” is to encourage a defensive (violently?) response from drivers.
We should probably be marketing this as a struggle for safer options, or somesuch, but, honestly, we shouldn´t shy away from saying we want fewer cars on streets and fewer streets with cars.
