    Getting the property and easements is probably the hardest part, especially when the will is presumably there for the urban hubs. Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, etc. on to New York on a shinkansen would be awesome but, especially in the city, they’re never getting all the land to even start. It would also presumably need to be elevated like the shinkansen here in japan

      Biggest issue is getting all the palms greased. Red tape disappears when money gets funnels to donors. They’ll straight up eminent domain peoples houses if the right billionaire is getting their cut.

        This is true, but I do have compassion for the people who would lose their homes and businesses, especially if they’re pensioners or on fixed income. Especially for older folks, moving away from support networks can be traumatic, so I would hope there is a good solution there (though I’m not sure what that would be other than huge amounts of cash).
