Or he just didn’t pay attention in class when it was taught. A lot of students treat history as irrelevant. It doesn’t help that a lot of public school history teachers are the equivalent of a dad watching World War 2 documentaries. Lots of them basically teach history so they can be a coach instead. Because public schools don’t hire independent coaches, and require all of them to teach something. So the coaches tend to fall into teaching history, because it’s easier than learning to teach calculus or chemistry.

He doesn’t look that young. I can’t imagine somehow missing the post 9/11 fallout and the war in the Middle East. The 20 year anniversary of it wasn’t as extravagant as the 10 year. But as an American it was kinda hard to ignore.

If he’s from outside the us and like just turned 18 maybe. But like how does one even miss all of the memes about it? I guess even those have died down too.

I’d say they made the attempt, but if he didn’t listen that much, the problem is them passing him, not attempting to teach him.

that is definitely a problem of the US education system. The “no child left behind” policy is absolute garbage.

COMPLETELY agreed. No Child Left Behind made WAY too many fucking idiots think that they’re up to standard of “functioning human being”, when that is demonstrably not the case.
